Welcome to the IASCOE Website! We are excited with this new opportunity to share our website and our organization's role in serving you! The purpose of this website is to explain who we are and what we do. The Illinois Association of FSA County Office Employees, represent the employees of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Service Agency (FSA). These employees serve and support, not only Illinois agriculture, but American agriculture as a whole.
The FSA is one agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The FSA is the agency responsible for administering most Federal Farm Programs at the "grass roots" level of agriculture. The employees of the FSA administer these programs on behalf of County FSA Committee's. County FSA Committee's are made up of 3 to 4 farmers in the county, voted to that position by their peers. Committee persons represent different aspects of agriculture and the under represented sector as well. Our employees are accountable to the general public, the farmers, County FSA Committee's, FSA District Director's, State FSA Committee's, FSA State Executive Director's, the Secretary of Agriculture and finally, the President of the United States. The programs we administer provide farm ownership and operating loans, stabilize farm income, improve our environment, and help keep the price of food for all consumers at an affordable cost.
Our employees work primarily with farmers, and for farmers. Our employees take pride in the services provided at the local level. Our employee's are located in USDA Service Center's across this country. Our County Executive Directors (CED's), Farm Loan Managers (FLM's), Farm Loan Officer's (FLO's) and Program Technician's (PT's), are the most dedicated people in government, and we are here to serve you. The purpose of IASCOE, is to ensure that these people, who work of behalf of agriculture, receive fair and equitable treatment, when compared to our counterparts throughout the federal system. -Les
