| 1872 Whiteside County Plat Maps The 1872 Whiteside County Atlas and Index (View Here) has been one of the historical museum's best sellers simply because it contains a Name/Landmark Cross Reference to property and sites, however, individual township maps themselves are quite useful and we reproduce them here to assist in your research. Genealogist and historians doing in depth studies of Whiteside County are encouraged to purchase the Atlas and Index for a more detailed Index reference or visit our facilites. If planning a personal visit to research a specific topic, please call ahead and let us know the date, estimated time of arrival and area of interest. Our giving the matter some prior consideration might save you time and make your research that much more pleasant. The hours of the museum are listed below. RESEARCH REQUEST POLICYThe Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society will undertake research for $20.00 for individuals, $25.00 for business. This charge includes up to five (5) photocopies of research material. Additional printed copies for non-members are $0.25 cents per 8-1/2X11, $0.30 cents per 8-1/2x14, and $0.50 cents for 11x17 sheet size. Photo scans for print or email are $1.00 each. Requests for research should include what is already known about the person/subject and specific information sought. Mail request with your name, address, city, state, zip, phone number, and/or email address, along with the required $12 initial search fee. A report will be sent and further research may be done if desired. Sometimes a search will turn up nothing; the initial fee is non-refundable. All fees go to support the operation of the Museum.
