This old postcard pictures the fire which destroyed Sterling's Wallace School on April 23, 1909. On the back of the card, the sender writes, "I was there when Goodrich took these [pictures], just as the big bell fell with an awful crash. The head of the horses you see with blankets on are the Rock Falls fire team." ![]() |
