The Fair Varieties was located at 116 E. Third in Sterling and is shown on the 1891 Sanborne map. All we can say is that it must have been a great Sale to get everyone out on such a cold day...mittens, scarves, wool hats and long coats pretty much tell the weather story. If only someone could tell the story behind the picture.
