The City of Henry, a tugboat from Port of Chicago, pushes a loaded coal barge through the Hennepin Feeder Canal in Montmorency township. The photo was hand dated 1906 but the canal did not open until November, 1907. It is still obviously an early photograph showing the promise of the Illinois and Mississippi Feeder Canal system. ![]() |
