Remember the old board game, Chutes and Ladders? Well, Sterling area residents had available to them a real live version of the same in "Shoot the Chutes" at the Great Northwestern Fair. About 1898, a group of business men bought the Mineral Springs Resort from Samuel Albertson and created an annual event that attracted people from near and far.
