Starting in 1870, the Keystone Company (later known as International Harvester) engaged in the manufacture of corn planters and other farm machinery with their warehouses crowding the Rock River. This photograph depicts the Regimental Band of the Sixth Regiment, I.N.G. (name on drum) which took this name in 1896; it was originally organized as the Rock Falls Band in 1876, later became the Keystone Band in 1881, and was most often referred to, and generally known as, The Keystone Band of Sterling-Rock Falls. ![]() |
