Putting the Rock Falls News to bed was a lot of work. Starting at left front and going back clockwise around the workshop are: Effie Smith, Dad Coryell, Cap Parker (owner), Walt Messinger, Gap Smith, Nellie Petrie, Nate Parks, Herb Petrie, and Chas. Mentzler. The first issue appeared in July, 1882 and its editor was Captain William Parker. The building and contents were destroyed by fire in 1896.
