Angler's Choice @ Savanna (pool #13)  2012 Schedule

Dick weighs Doc's fish. Jerry measures someone's big bass.

It's time to pull all that gear out and sort through the stuff we laid to the side after the tournament season last year as we intended to sort later.  It's also the time to clean off the boat that served as a temporary storage shelf and put it away where it should go, like the Christmas tree, snow shovels, Carharts, and bags of new tackle that was purchased in the off-season.  Since we had a very mild winter, it's a good time to prep the boat and inspect the lower unit for leaks and look at each tire's air pressure.

Pulling and organizing gear for our trip to Guntersville, Alabama to fish the Classic the in early March.  Sorting through tackle, replacing new line on reels, inspecting the foul weather gear,  clothing, etc.

It will be another 40 days before we even think about visiting the Mississippi River unless we experience a very warm March.  Who knows....we've seen it before!

Be sure to check on our photos!

Tip of the week:  Change your fishing line with new line and this includes the high performance braids.  Clean and lubricate your reels.  Be sure to order fishing licenses online.  Much faster and you get it out of the way for 2012.

Fish locations:  The fish will continue to hold in deeper water and adjacent to slopes.  Since we did not have much ice and snow cover (so far), they may locate a little closer to areas near current as oxygen levels are better.  As water temperatures climb, bass will venture near shallow waters or near areas to feed.  "Ice out" is a good time to catch early feeders, but fish slow.
